Impact of Climate Change on Health:
Climate change disproportionately impacts developing countries, India in particular, due to a combination of socioeconomic vulnerabilities, the country's large population, diverse geography, and limited adaptive capacity. In addition to the loss of biodiversity and impacted ecosystem services, a few of the human health concerns are as follows. Heat-related morbidity and mortality in working class, elderly, and children; Air pollution causing exacerbated respiratory diseases, high risk of cardiovascular diseases, stroke, and lung cancer; Vector-borne diseases with a special mention of zoonotic causes; Waterborne diseases; food insecurity and malnutrition leading to nutritional deficiencies, affecting children and pregnant women are prominent. The medical fraternity also needs to be prepared to face frequent emergencies of natural disasters related to weather extremes such as flooding, landslides, tsunamis, drought, and heat waves.

One Health:
Human population continues to grow and communities keep expanding into newer geographic locations. Due to this, more people live in close contact with domestic and wild animals. In the last century our environment has undergone drastic changes due to climate change and deforestation. Both these factors provide new opportunities for diseases to jump from animals to humans.
One Health is an approach which recognizes that health of people is closely connected to the health of animals and our shared environment.
One Health approach can be used by involving experts in human, animal, environmental health and other relevant disciplines for monitoring and controlling public health threats and to learn about how diseases spread among people, animals, plants, and the environment.
