Introduction to Workshop
Respiration, a fundamental and uninterrupted life-preserving process, necessitates a deep understanding and skillful application of contemporary diagnostic methodologies. This workshop is designed for pulmonologists, pediatricians, and general practitioners, emphasizing the importance of mastering advanced diagnostic tools in tandem with an in-depth knowledge of respiratory physiology and pathology. Participants will engage in an interactive and educational experience, focusing on practical applications of Pulmonary Function Tests, detailed interpretation of results, thorough analysis of Arterial Blood Gas (ABG), and an overview of essential ventilator settings in critical care environments.
Objectives:
-
To proficiently analyze and interpret ABG, understanding its clinical importance.
-
To acquire a comprehensive understanding of various ventilator modes and their applications.
-
To execute and interpret pulmonary function tests, recognizing the crucial role of Pulmonary Function Tests in the diagnostic process.
-
To distinguish between pediatric and adult airway management and ventilator usage.
Scope:
This workshop is open for:
-
Medical undergraduates pursuing a specialization in respiratory medicine.
-
Students aiming to enhance their proficiency in ABG Analysis, spirometry, and ventilator settings.
-
Respiratory Therapists actively involved in intensive care settings, seeking advanced knowledge and skills.
Outcomes & Deliverables:
-
An in-depth, hands-on familiarity with the primary diagnostic instruments in pulmonology.
-
The ability to independently identify and interpret pathological variations in respiratory patterns.
-
A thorough understanding of integrating diagnostic tools for accurate respiratory disease diagnosis and management
